We are a multi-award winning wine producer situated on a stunning property little over an hour from Melbourne, Australia.
Established in 1989, our property sits in an internationally recognised "Cool Climate" region on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and currently encompasses 46 acres with 23 acres under vine.
Boasting one of the best views from any winery in the world, we are renowned, not only for our fine wines but also for our superb, panoramic views of Western Port Bay.
For the last 25 years, we have produced some of the finest wines from the Mornington Peninsula and our brand is now synonymous with this Cool Climate region.
In most years, our wines are exceptional, with the cool, maritime climate mixing with volcanic and sedimentary soils to create wines that are wonderfully textured, complex and elegantly understated.
Our brand architecture allows consumers to discover and enjoy our wines based on pricing and style considerations and we consistently offer exceptional quality wine across a range of styles and price points.
At an altitude of anywhere between 40 and 300m, and with soils that range from volcanic to sedimentary, the Mornington Peninsula is blessed with a cool maritime climate that creates one of the most unique combinations of any wine producing region in the world.
The region splits into more than 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Gris with the remaining 10-15% being made up of a number of varietals; the most significant being Shiraz.
Along with 1,000 hectares planted, 200 vineyards and more than 60 Cellar Doors, it’s closest and most comparable regions (globally) are the Rheingau, Napa and Burgundy.
The region is widely renowned as Australia’s best for Pinot Noir; the most neurotic of grape varieties
At Red Hill Estate we are proud to support and be associated with the Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Associations who work tirelessly to promote our region. To discover more about the great work that the MPVA does please visit www.mpva.com.au
Donna Stephens is our Chief Winemaker at Red Hill Estate.
Before becoming a winemaker, Donna completed a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology & Resource Management which eventually landed her a job in Nhulunbuy in Australia’s Northern Territory working on a crocodile farm.
A few years later she then finished another degree, this time in Winemaking from Charles Sturt University. Donna worked at Buronga Hill Winery as an Assistant Winemaker and from there, took up the helm at Cranswick Estate and then Evans & Tate; as Senior Winemaker
Prior to joining the team at Red Hill Estate, Donna enjoyed a long and successful stint in the Clare Valley with Kirrihill Wines, where she created award winning Regional & Single Vineyard wines.
Donna works with our viticultural team to create wines that we have all grown to love. Wines that have elegance, regional character, finesse & classic style.
Wines that are worthy of the Red Hill Estate label.
VUE DE MONDE & RED HILL ESTATE
As part of our association with great guys from Truffle Melbourne, we recently teamed up with the legendary Vue de Monde restaurant high on the 55th floor of the Rialto Tower in Melbourne for a wonderful Black Diamond Dinner. Head Chef Justin James created a stunning 5 course menu that celebrated locally grown truffles & showcased them with a matching suite of wines from Red Hill Estate.

Our core range - our Estate, Merricks Grove and Single Vineyard wines - are complemented by additional offerings that cover our Cellar Door Release, an occasional Regional Releases line (where we put a little RHE spin on classic varieties from classic regions) as well as Sparkling and Sweeter selections. In addition to this we also produce a range of wines called The Bench at Red Hill Estate that support our association with MS Research Australia and their wonderful campaign Kiss Goodbye to MS
