Perfect growing and ripening season – wet winter and spring followed by a mild summer.
- Vineyard Notes
Harvested from Merricks Grove B & C blocks. hand pruned, from spur-pruned vines in the first week of March 2021.
- Winemaking
Harvested in the early morning and pressed off skins. The wine was allowed to cold settle in the tank. Racked hard to new and old barrels with a wild yeast ferment. Partial malolcatic ferment took place after primary fermentation. Barrel stirring off heavy yeast lees for 9 months.
- Tasting Notes
On the palate it’s full and round, nicely clean with great length and an elegant mineral acid finish. Medium straw in colour, the bouquet is guava, lemon curd and citrus flowers. You’ll note influences of white nectarine, pink grapefruit, candied lemon and a touch of pineapple.
